Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications Training, V2V Communications training

What is V2V ?

V2V is a communication technology that facilitates crash avoidance. It uses VANETs (vehicular ad hoc networks), which consists of a wireless network whereby vehicles can communicate with one another and share information about their driving behaviors.

Why V2V is used ?

V2V communication enables vehicles to transmit data over a wireless mesh network to send, receive, and re-transmit signals. A wireless mesh network is one that relies on all nodes to propagate signals.

About 1 million vehicles currently have some form of V2V communications. Reports estimate that around 60% of new vehicles (more than 62 million vehicles) will have V2V capability by 2023.

Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communications systems, once fully deployed, could reduce accidents caused by human error by up to 70-80%, and can have a massive impact on congestion and carbon emissions.

Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) technologies open the door for vehicles to share information and interact with each other, as well as with the emerging smart infrastructure.
